An award distribution function was recently held at RIMT Management Campus, Mandi Gobindgarh to honor the students for their outstanding academic performance in Punjab Technical University Examination. The awards and medals were distributed by The Chief Guest Sh. V.M. Trehan, Chairman Mekaster Group of Companies. In his address Chairman of RIMT Group of Institutes Dr. Hukan Chand Bansal welcomed the Chief Guest, Parents, Students and members of the media and in his message to the students urged them to keep working hard till the time they achieve their goal he further said that RIMT has always been on an unending quest for creating value and has proved to be a nursery of talent for it has been producing professionals of repute for the last one decade. Prominent amongst the students honored were Ms. Richa Gupta (MBA III Semester) who was awarded Mekaster Scholarship of Rs 30000, Ms. Garima Bansal (BCA VI Semester) a university Gold medalist, Ms. Heena Bansal (MCA V Semester), Ms. Pushpinder Kaur (MCA V Semester), Ms. Ganadeep Kaur (MCA V Semester), Ms. Namita Gupta (MCA III Semester), Ms. Bhawna Bansal (MCA I Semester), Mr. Anoop Arora (MCA VI Semester), Ms. Navjot Kaur (BCA IV Semester) and Ms. Manpreet Kaur (BCA IV Semester) all position holders in their respective colleges and courses . A total of 76 students were given certificates, medals and mementos at the function.

Another important feature of the function was award to Sh. V.M. Trehan, Chairman Mekaster Group of Companies as he was honored with RIMT Award of Excellence 2011 in recognition of his contribution to the field of Engineering and Management. Speaking on the occasion Dr. B.S. Bhatia, Director General, RIMT Management Campus threw light on the life, work and achievements of Sh. V.M. Terhan.

In his message to the students Sh. V.M. Trehan exhorted the students to have a definite goal in life and to responds positively to different challenges. He further said that strong interpersonal skills coupled with undaunted spirit are pre requisites for success in life. The students were in a jubilant mood and were enthused and motivated by the enlightening words of the dignitaries. Dr. S.N. Panda, Principal, Regional Institute of Management & Technology and Dr. Vivek Inder Kochhar, Director, RIMT-IMCT was also present during the function.
