An award distribution function was recently held at RIMT Management Campus, Mandi Gobindgarh to honor the students for their outstanding academic performance in Punjab Technical University Examination. The awards and medals were distributed by the Chief Guest Sh. V.M. Trehan, Chairman, Mekaster Group of Companies. In his address Chairman of RIMT Institutes Dr. Hukam Chand Bansal welcomed the Chief Guest, Parents, Students and members of the media and in his message to the students urged them to keep working hard till the time they achieve their goal. He further said that RIMT has always been on an unending quest for creating value and has proved to be a nursery of talent for it has been producing professionals of repute for the last one decade.

Prominent amongst the students honoured were Ms. Neha Bhatia ( MBA III Semester) who was awarded Mekaster Scholarship of Rs 30000 , Ms Bhawna Bansal ( MCA III Semester) who was awarded Mekaster Scholarship of Rs 25000, Ms. Vandana Sharma MBA II (IB) University topper in MBA International Business . Ms Richa Gupta , Ms Sumita Rani and Ms Manmeet Kaur Saini from MBA. Mr Shanky Seth, Mr Gurpreet Singh, Mr Vishal and Mr Gursewak Singh from BSc Hotel Management. All position holders in different courses. A total of 50 students were given certificates, medals and mementos at the function.

An important feature of the program was release of a book namely “Managing Indian Economy in Global Financial Crises” by the Chief Guest. The book has been edited by Chairman of RIMT, Dr Hukam Chand Bansal and has been published by Regal Publications. Dr. J R Gupta member Punjab Planning Board shared his observations and praised the book about its usefulness to students, Researchers and Industry.

In his message to the students Sh. V.M. Trehan exhorted the students to have a definite goal in life and to respond positively to different challenges. He further said that strong interpersonal skills coupled with undaunted spirit are pre requisites for success in life. The students were in a jubilant mood and were enthused by the enlightening words of the dignitaries. Dr B.S Bhatia, Director General, RIMT-Management Campus, Dr. S.N. Panda, Principal, Regional Institute of Management & Technology and Dr. Vivek Inder Kochhar, Director, RIMT-IMCT were also present during the function.
